The first day of school has come and passed. No major issues or glitches. And the issues we did have were ones we were warned about. I have some classes with 6 kids and some with 35, these will be balanced out in the next week.
We are playing this week as a pure orientation week. I basically welcomed my classes, pointed out how lovely our new school is, went over common rules like be respectful, come prepared. I then gave kids a small piece of paper to ask me any questions about the school or where they need to go or what not. Most kids asked about our dress cod
e, where their classes were, and what the class was about.
I opted to do this today because the school is new, every kid feels like a freshman who doesn’t know their way around. Most of us teachers don’t know the campus yet either.
Overall the day went well. Tomorrow is i dentical to today since I have rotating classes, this means that I see the kids every other day. So the kids I have tomorrow, I didn’t have today.
I uploaded some pics and explanations of my room on Flickr. Feel free to take a look.
I must now rest…my feet are sore…I’m tired…and we’re out of TP which means I have to go to the market. GRRR.

What a nice neat desk! Nice mounted LCD projector. Things have changed from when I was in Highschool. Anyone remember those over-head projectors
How excellent!
Glad school is getting off to a good start.
Beautiful room. I’m jealous. In what sort of school do you teach, Jewish or public?
I wish I had the same room all the time but unfortunately it’s not the case.
