This blog is simply about me.
Like life, sometimes it will have its ups and other times it will have its downs. I hope you’ll keep reading even during the down times. You’ll read about my day to day doings, teaching, education, Judaism, and perhaps a little about relationships.
I met my husband (married in September 2007) via this blog so you will likely hear tidbits on that. I hope you enjoy my little perspective on life and the world.
Another thing I’m involved in is the JewsByChoice.Org blog. My husband is a Jew by choice and started this project. Although I’m a Jew by birth, I did make a decision as an adult to embrace a more observant life and in that way I’m a Jew by choice. There is a good explanation on that on the JBC blog.

Hello:
I’ve just posted a blog about your new web site Jews By Choice at http://schvach.blogspot.com/2007/11/new-jews-by-schvach-yid-not-to-be.html
Please let me know if it’s OK,
-Schvach
I found your blog via Jack’s Shack … you commented on his post about a fire and evacuation, and referenced being evacuated from Camp JCA. I believe that was in 1985, and I remember it too … IIRC, we spent a night on the beach at Zuma, then a night at Hess Kramer.
I was on staff there in 1985 & 1986, and am curious to reconnect with friends from back then. My name then (when single) was Andy Stevenson, and I worked with the theater unit and as a songleader.
Were you a camper, or on staff at that time? I wonder if we have old friends in common?
Hi Andy,
You didn’t leave a reply mail so I haven’t been able to contact you.
Hey Tamara! Just a fellow teacher here struggling to find some resources. Do you have a video of Emma Lazarus’ “new Colossus?” Yahoo linked me here but I don’t know how to find it Can you link me to it? Or send it to me? Help!
Thanks,
Jill
Hey Tamara,
Thanks for checking out my blog on Student-Led Conferences. My class is not that tidy and organized! ha ha ha… 5 year olds are not into keeping the room clean, but they do like to “please” their teacher most of the time.
Yes, flat Holly went to Disneyland with us on Mother’s Day. She had to go back to Raleigh, North Carolina to her first grader before the year ends. Her teacher is a teacher I mentor online all the way from CA. Funny huh?
Great blog… so much information! I am just photos and reflections… videos too. Trying to get more tech.
Take Care,
Jane
